Regional Coordinator (North-West)

Kabiru Dakata is the Regional Coordinator, North-West region. He is an activist and public policy specialist with over 15 years’ experience engaging policy makers, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders at sub-national levels. He is an active advocate for population planning for sustainable demographic dividend. He has successfully championed the first-ever conversation on the adoption of a smaller families system in the North-West region. This includes extensive engagements and sensitisation with targeted youth groups, policy makers, general public, traditional leaders, religious leaders and community heads on the imperative of family planning and population management on the development and growth of the Northern region. He has led several initiatives that provoked positive shifts in policy actions and decisions in the Northern regions.

His significant interventions on human rights, women’s rights, child rights, democratic governance have gained wider recognition across Northern regions including the Kano State Government. He remains a mentor to thousands of youth in the North and beyond.
